What to Expect from a QMS Consultant
The following describes the actions that the consultant will perform for the organization:
Highlight the concepts concerning the quality management system, paying special attention to understanding current processes, ensuring that the design and implementation of the QMS are suited to the organization and specific business environment.
Involve all stakeholders in the QMS realization through advising and supporting the organization by identifying the appropriate processes needed for its QMS, define the importance and interaction of those processes and assist the organization with the required documentation essential to ensure the effective planning, operation, control and long term management of its processes.
Once the processes have been identified and evaluated for their effectiveness and efficiency. Opportunities for improvement will be identified; this will assist in promoting a process approach and continual improvement of the QMS within the organization.
Assist in identifying the initial and ongoing training needs required for the organization to maintain the QMS.
Assist the organization in identifying the relationship between its QMS and any other relevant management system (e.g. environmental or occupational health and safety) and facilitate the integration of such systems.
